Forenklet fusionsanmeldelse af Santander Finance S.A.'s purchase of GE Money Bank AB
The Danish Competition and Consumer Authority has received a draft notification of Santander Consumer Finance S.A.'s purchase of GE Money Bank AB’s Danish activities.
According to the parties, the transaction is subject to the Competition Act's provisions on merger control which means that the merger cannot be implemented until either the Competition Council or the Competition and Consumer Authority has approved it.
The transaction is notified as a simplified notification. The Competition and Consumer Authority has not yet decided whether the transaction fulfils the requirements to be assessed as a simplified notification.Both Santander Consumer Finance S.A. and GE Money Bank AB are active in the Danish retail banking market. In the view of the parties the transaction does not adversely affect competition in the retail banking market.
The Competition and Consumer Authority invites all interested parties to submit comments regarding the transactions by Friday 18 July 2014.Comments can be sent to:
